Are they gearing up for post-election mayhem?
Student protesters on college campuses are being trained in military tactics and the art of war, but the rub is – almost half (of those arrested) are actually NOT students at all.
While many see student protests over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict rising spontaneously, irrefutable evidence shows outside agitators are coordinating the charge.
The number of non-students being arrested in student protests is remarkable. The Washington Times reported that nearly half of the so-called anti-Israel student protesters taken into custody last week at Columbia University and the City College of New York (CCNY) were not students.
According to city police (NYPD) statistics, roughly 134 of the 282 (47.5%) demonstrators arrested late last week had no affiliation with the two New York colleges.
At Columbia, 32 of the 119 protesters charged had no connection to the school, while 80 did.
At CCNY, 102 of the 173 individuals arrested were unaffiliated with the campus and just 68 had a college connection.
'SOMETHING NEFARIOUS'
Police departments are finding, among the debris and litter protesters have left behind, evidence of military-like planning.
NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry said what police found in historic Hamilton Hall on Columbia's campus, after they arrested protesters who had barricaded themselves inside the building, gave him pause.
Instead of “pencils, books [and] laptops,” we found "gas masks, ear plugs, helmets, goggles, tape, hammers, knives, ropes, and a book on TERRORISM."
"These are not the tools of students protesting, these are the tools of agitators, of people who were working on something nefarious," he said.
New York City isn’t the exception. Police and university officials across the nation, cleaning out the encampments, are finding revolutionary training guides, as well as tactical military-level tools and equipment, left behind.
TRAINING GUIDES ON HOW TO BE AN INSURRECTIONIST
The Free Press, a new online media, describing itself as built on ideals once the bedrock of American journalism, collected a series of training guides created by insurrectionist groups instructing so-called pro-Palestinian protesters how to attack, retreat, resist and occupy college campuses.
Among the training guides is the "De-arrest Primer" that lays out a series of tactics to free "someone who has been seized by Law Enforcement Officers." It includes text, as well as illustrations, to clarify each of the tactics.
According to the primer, each "de-arrest,” i.e., each rescue of an arrested protester, is "a micro-intifada which can spread and inspire others until we may finally shake off this noxious ruling order all together.” ("Intifada" is derived from an Arabic word meaning to shake off or get rid of.)
Another manual, "The Do-It-Yourself-Occupation Guide," presents practical information to protesters on how to break into buildings and how to barricade themselves once ensconced in the structures.
The guide illustrates a variety of tools like crowbars, clamps, metal cables, chains, bolt cutters, and a miniature saw for breaking into buildings.
It also shows how to barricade doors with heavy furniture and how to construct a shield against law enforcement officers by using trash cans (to protect one person) or by screwing large sheets corrugated metal together (to protect multiple people).
The authors explain their broadening goal going forward:
'We look ahead to when we enter the buildings, take over the streets, and occupy the city. To do this we need to further cultivate the various techniques of occupation that have been put on the table for building takeovers. That is the goal of this manual. We need to sharpen our practice until it is possible to defend a space indefinitely. This is not just a question of material means and capacity. Equally, it is a question of social strength and the development of a certain spirit.'
"The occupation must spread to survive," the guide states. "What would happen if we could take over the whole city, living without the imposition of the state or capitalism?"
PROTESTERS FOR HIRE
The internet is a veritable treasure trove of advertisements of protesters for hire, for example, "Paid Protest Jobs, Employment" and "Search for Get Paid To Protest — Find it here."
Ira Stoll, editor of FutureOfCapitalism.com, confirmed protesters are being paid to disrupt campuses.
In a recent interview on the Fox News Channel, he said groups "are advertising for fellows to be paid $3,000 to work eight hours a week for three months, on campuses across the US."
Hundreds of thousands of dollars can be traced back to "the Soros Open Society Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund," Stoll said. "So, there’s big money behind these protests."
PROFESSIONAL AGITATORS
Amidst the big money behind the protests, a new job category is gaining prominence – that of professional agitator. One of the best known is vehement anti-Trumper Lisa Fithian.
The 63-year-old Fithian has reportedly participated in various protests, including Occupy Wall Street, climate change, and currently the so-called Gaza Solidarity movement at Columbia.
Multiple video sources show her instructing a mob of agitators how to barricade the historic Hamilton Hall last week and calling students trying to stop her “A**holes.”
She advertises herself as being “available for trainings, consultations and organizing projects” and “continues to work with people to access the power they need to build a more just and peaceful community and world.”
The Daily Mail reported that unions and activist groups have paid her $300/day to orchestrate demonstrations and teach their members tactics for taking over the streets.
Fithian has said, “When people ask me, ‘What do you do?’ I say, ‘I create crisis because crisis is the leading edge where change is possible.’” The late Andrew Breitbart described her as an anarchist bent on “the total annihilation of the American political and economic system.”
When asked about her presence at the Columbia University protests, Fithian denied being an organizer, telling the Boston Globe that she was being smeared by the right.
"They love to hate me," the activist said, explaining she was on campus to conduct a "training session on safety and logistics of a protest."
